Roberta (Oglala Lakota/Yomba Shoshone) has many partnerships in community: the Future Generations who works to lower FASD in Multnomah county's Native community. Portland State University has a summer & fall term senior capstone that comes twice a week. Oregon State University nutritionist brings a WIC cooking class last Friday of the month thats open to all. Roberta is a Full Circle Doula & lactation Educator & Executive Director of Oregon Inter-Tribal breastfeeding coalition. She provides on site support. & is dedicated to making tea blends, salves & tinctures that support moms & babies-all who carry womb. Her life's work is to serve local Native families thru pregnancy & breastfeeding/infant feeding relationship. Wombyns Wellness Garden brings that connection between healthy families, food access & raising a family. Brings sanctuary, a communal space where folks come to do self healing. Meditation, ceremony, prayer. This rare opportunity to learn how to tend the land: garden, farm food and medicinals in a safe space for BIPOC folks to learn is ideal. Roberta's passion and all the community volunteers help make that happen.
Roberta's goal after completing the Pathways program is to buy 5-15 acres in the PNW thats opened to Native community for buy in to farming seasonally. Small plots, teach classes, grow food. Blending birthwork & land strewardship. Supporting home birth-NOT a birth center, in cultural ways.
